ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police are eyeing old grudges behind the killing of a cockfight aficionado inside a cockpit at Sitio Cabutungan in Brgy. Conciencia, Panitan, Capiz Sunday afternoon.
Major Amie Bulaqueña, Panit-an Municipal Police Station chief, said the victim identified as alias “Llyod” provoked trouble by challenging the suspects to a fight outside the cockpit.
Witnesses said that they later heard gunfire volleys.
Lloyd was shot by three suspects identified as alias ‘Ryan’, ‘Nene’, and ‘Boyet’ inside the cockpit around 3:55 pm.
The victim was rushed to Bailan District Hospital but died while undergoing treatment. The suspects fled in an unknown direction.
Police recovered from the crime scene 4 pieces of caliber .45 ammunition.
Bulaqueña said Lloyd had records at the barangay and the police station when he was still a minor.
