They asked for it, and one of the biggest basketball organizing bodies in the Province of Capiz gave them what they wanted.
After almost three years of hiatus, the On D’ Move (ODM) Sports League is back with a bang and is set to revive the well-loved School Wars Basketball Tournament that will kick off on July 13, 2025.
Conceptualized to help schools hone their basketball programs, ODM Sports League commissioner and founder Jeremiah Obera is already excited for the return of the School Wars Conference.
“2022 last naton nga paliga sang School Wars, and nakita gd naton kung ano ka warm ma batyagan ang gina tawag naton nga school spirit. Subong, we are proud to do it again and hopefully, mag shine liwat ang aton mga talented players sa Capiz,” said Obera in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.
Last year, the conference catered to only one category, but this season, ODM Sports League has opened three more, providing a wider and more competitive reach.
This year’s ODM School Wars will have three categories: Under-12, Under-15, and Under-17. With a massive number of participants storming to grab their slot, Mr. Obera vowed to bring the expected high-level organizing on their end.
Completing the list of the U-12 participants are Capiz Commercial School, Child’s Academy Inc., Filamer Christian University, Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion, and Dumolog National High School.
Meanwhile, in the U-15 category, the schools that already confirmed their spots were Filamer, Hercor College, Purisima, Commissioner Luis R. Asis National High School, Don Ynocencio A. Del Rosario National High School, and Capiz National High School.
The U-17 category will then be joined by Filamer, Hercor, Purisima, Culasi National High School, St. Joseph- Los Obreros, and Commissioner Luis R. Asis NHS.
“We are all excited I know. Lapit na lang, kag magabalik na ang gina hulat sang tanan nga ODM School Wars. Thank you to all schools nga nag salig. Sadyahun ta ini!” added Obera.
