The Office of the Civil Defense Region 6 turned over 100 sacks of NFA rice to the Province of Guimaras on June 4, 2021.
Office of Civil Defense VI Information Officer Ms. Cindy Ferrer said the agency saw the need of Guimaras for relief assistance amid the surge of COVID-19 cases in the province.
Ferrer added that it is the mandate of the OCD to provide relief assistance during the time of emergencies.
Governor Samuel T. Gumarin thanked OCD-6 Regional Director Roberto Nuñez for the relief assistance.

These sacks of rice will augment the provincial government’s relief drive, Gumarin said.
Several communities in Guimaras were placed under lockdown as infections continue to increase.
