The Nxled Chameleons underwent their most massive offseason roster overhaul since joining the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) after acquiring the former Petro Gazz core trio of Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips and Myla Pablo.
On Jan. 15, 2026, the Philippine volleyball landscape made major headlines after the Chameleons unveiled the biggest names they tapped following the leave of absence of the Petro Gazz Angels.
It is now official. A new era will banner Nxled’s upcoming PVL campaign.
After Aby Maraño, Jonah Sabete and Djanel Cheng, the Chameleons added more firepower, depth and veteran experience as they quickly upgraded from a cellar-dwelling team to one of the most feared franchises in just the blink of an eye.
Petro Gazz stood by its promise after vowing to help other PVL franchises by lending its players in the offseason, particularly to the Chameleons.
Now, Nxled will no longer search for a scoring closer and a reliable middle blocker, as the former Petro Gazz core trio can fill those roles.
Van Sickle, the reigning PVL Most Valuable Player (MVP), is looking to bolster Nxled’s offensive department alongside veteran outside spiker Pablo.
Manning the middle to address Nxled’s defensive woes is Phillips, one of the best blockers to ever set foot in the PVL, backstopped by the leadership of Maraño, who signed with the Chameleons two days ago.
Aside from the Petro Gazz core, the Chameleons also added Nicole Tiamzon, Jellie Tempiatura, Bang Pineda, Joyme Cagande, AA Adolfo and Jules Tolentino.
With the recent influx of signings weeks before the PVL conference kicks off, the Chameleons have become the busiest franchise this offseason and are looking to change their fortunes when the postseason arrives.
Since joining the prestigious volleyball league in 2023, the Chameleons have only managed to secure a maiden playoff berth during the 2025 PVL on Tour.
Although the conference was a preseason format, the achievement marked a significant breakthrough for a team that had struggled in the All-Filipino and Reinforced Conferences.
