ROXAS CITY, Capiz A nursing attendant of a public hospital here was arrested Tuesday evening in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) at Inocencio Street, Barangay Tiza here.
Alex Anthony Agdalipe, 35, a nursing attendant of Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital and resident of Barangay Bago here did not resist when police handcuffed him after receiving the marked money from an undercover cop.
Recovered from Agdalipe were three sachets of suspected shabu, P1,000 marked money and a cellphone.
Meanwhile, a driver was arrested in another PDEA and police drug sting Monday afternoon at Brgy. Inzo Arnaldo here.
Police identified the suspect as Johnar Cadiz, 39, of Brgy Bonga, Panay, Capiz.
According to PDEA, Cadiz himself contacted their asset and initiated the transaction outside Novotel Hotel on Arnaldo Boulevard here.
But when the transaction was about to be consummated, the suspect felt that he was dealing with cops and tried to scuttle it.
Authorities, however, cornered and arrested him after a brief chase.
Recovered from Cadiz were two plastic sachets of suspected shabu, the P1,000 marked money, a cellular phone, and an empty cigarette box.
The suspect has a pending case for illegal drug peddling in Kalibo, Aklan before he transferred his operation here.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) were filed against Agdalipe and Cadiz.
