BACOLOD City – An alleged member of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to the military and police in Barangay Kapitan Ramon, Silay City, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.
Authorities withheld the name of the rebel returnee who is from Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City.
The former NPA rebel also turned over a homemade 12 gauge shotgun and a rifle grenade.
On that same day, a resident of Barangay San Agustin, Isabela town voluntarily submitted himself to the police and the military to clear his name and withdraw his support from the NPA.
The former NPA supporter underwent interviews and documentation subject for validation to avail the programs of the government.
