ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A notorious robbery suspect was arrested early Wednesday morning, May 27, in an operation conducted by police in Barangay Dumolog here.
Police identified the suspect as Jonathan Riban, alias “Yupok,” 18, a resident of Sitio San Juan, Barangay Baybay here.
Recovered from the suspect were a .38-caliber revolver, two live rounds of ammunition of the same caliber, and one plastic sachet of suspected shabu.
The suspect admitted owning the firearm when asked by police.
Police said the suspect was behind a series of robbery incidents in establishments in Barangay Baybay.
The suspect was under intensive monitoring before the operation was conducted.
He is under the custody of the Roxas City Police Station, while charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against him.
