BACOLOD City – A suspected notorious robber was arrested after he allegedly robbed a pregnant woman in front of a shopping mall at Barangay 8 here Monday, November 25.
Police identified the suspect as Clint Agravante, 30, of Magsungay, Barangay Singcang-Airport. He is known for alleged snatching and other robbery incidents here, according to the police.
Police Major Sherlock Gabana, head of Police Station 2, said that Agravante and the 25-year-old victim from Talisay City, Negros Occidental were on board a passenger jeepney when the latter alighted from the vehicle at the said area and the suspect followed her.
Agravante then allegedly declared a hold-up and threatened her at knifepoint.
Gabana said the suspect was arrested when police who were roving at the area immediately responded. The victim was unharmed.
Police recovered from Agravante an eight-inch knife, and two live ammunition of a 12-gauge shotgun.
Gabana said Agravante will be charged for robbery hold-up, illegal possession of ammunition, and illegal possession of a deadly weapon. He is detained at the police station.
