NorthPort has completed several key testing and installation milestones under its three-year structural upgrade program, keeping works at Terminal 1 on schedule.
The company said work on the initial 40-meter segment at Pier 16, which forms part of a 100-meter work area, has been ongoing since April 2026.
Pile Dynamic Analysis testing on the test piles achieved the required design load, confirming compliance with applicable engineering and safety standards.
At Terminal 1, ongoing works include underdeck repairs, wharf structure rehabilitation, and asset tagging to support long-term asset management.
NorthPort said these activities are being carried out alongside testing and piling operations to maintain construction momentum while upholding safety and quality standards.
The current scope of works is targeted for completion by the end of June 2026.
The overall project remains on track for completion by the end of 2027, in line with the approved three-year program.
NorthPort said the Terminal 1 structural upgrade remains aligned with the approved schedule as it strengthens terminal infrastructure and ensures continued readiness to support the country’s growing trade and operational needs.
NorthPort serves as the Philippines’ premier domestic gateway, linking Metro Manila with the rest of the Philippine archipelago.
The terminal provides integrated passenger, container, and general cargo handling services that support domestic trade and mobility across the country.
