A 46-year-old man was arrested in Ajuy, Iloilo more than a decade after fleeing a criminal charge in North Cotabato,
Edmundo Sabetero was collared at his house in Barangay Bay-ang, Ajuy around 9 p.m. on May 2, 2021.
Members of Ajuy Police Station, together with Banisilan Police Station and Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), arrested Sabetero for the crime of frustrated murder.
Sabetero is the subject of an arrest warrant in Criminal Case No. 98-183 issued by Executive Judge Rasad Balindong of the Regional Trial Court Branch 18 in Midsayap, Cotabato, on June 16, 1999.
Bailbond for his temporary liberty was fixed at P200,000.
It was gathered that the incident happened in 1998 at Banisilan, North Cotabato where Sabetero resided for 18 years.
But the suspect relocated to Ajuy in 1999 after he got married.
The suspect is now detained at the lock-up cell of Ajuy Police Station for proper disposition of his case.
