Nocppo nets P26.5M in illegal drugs

BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) has seized P26,541,245.96 worth of illegal drugs from January 1, to October 25, 2020.
The seizures include P26,540,182.40 worth of shabu and P1,063.56 worth of marijuana.
Lieutenant Wilma Silva, Nocppo’s deputy public information officer, said police also seized 3,911.83 grams of shabu and 8.86 grams of marijuana.
Silva told Daily Guardian that 542 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted in almost 10 months this year.
Silva said that 740 persons were arrested, composed of 666 drug pushers and 74 drug users.
A total of 1,417 cases were filed in court, she added.
Nocppo continues to be aggressive in their war against illegal drugs despite being in the frontline in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
