BACOLOD City – Employees of the provincial government here are restive amid reports that they will not receive extra bonuses this year.
Last year, the capitol employees got P80,000 each as Christmas bonus
But a Capitol source said the Commission on Audit has directed that the Christmas bonus in 2015-2016 in the amount of P26,000 for each employee must be returned because it was illegal.
Another employee who requested anonymity said they are instructed to process the deductions.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has yet to request for a supplemental budget for the employees’ bonus.
