The Ninoy Aquino Stadium is currently undergoing full-disinfection after 123 COVID-19 survivors were successfully sent home with no recorded deaths in their two-month operation.
Ninoy Aquino Stadium was one of the facilities converted to a “We Heal as One Center” for COVID-19 patients by the Philippine Sports Commission. The program is aimed at decongesting hospital patients and at the same time help in the government’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Right after discharging its 123 patients, the facility immediately underwent total repair and disinfection to ready its return as a sports facility.
Meanwhile, the other PSC facilities are still under operation, with the Rizal Memorial Coliseum (RMC) in Manila catering 67 patients while the Multi-Purpose Arena (MPA) in the PhilSports Complex has 34 patients.
