BACOLOD City – Nine persons were arrested in anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the confiscation of P110,720 worth of suspected shabu here and in Negros Occidental from Oct 17 to 18, 2021.
In the province, seven persons were apprehended in the cities of Himamaylan, Talisay, Bago, and La Carlota, and the towns of E.B. Magalona, and Hinoba-an.
An estimated P42,320 worth of suspected shabu was seized in the province in police checkpoint, drug raid, and buy-bust operations.
In Bacolod, two persons were arrested for possession of P68,400 worth of the said contraband in separate drug bust operations in Barangays Villamonte and Singcang-Airport.
Meanwhile, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated a total of 59.849 grams of illegal drugs worth P406,973.20 in 15 police operations from Oct 1 to 15.
A total of 22 street level drug personalities and one high value individual were arrested, while 25 cases were filed in court.
On the campaign against wanted persons, 19 operations were conducted in the past two weeks that resulted in the apprehension of four most wanted persons and 15 other wanted persons charged with various offenses.
For loose firearms, seven operations were conducted and two individuals were arrested. Four homemade firearms, five explosives, and eight ammunition were surrendered.
On the campaign against illegal gambling, six operations were conducted and six cases were filed against 20 arrested persons.
