ROXSS CITY, Capiz– A 40-year-old man returned to jail after he was caught Thursday morning in a drug buy-bust operation of the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Roxas City PNP at Pueblo de Panay in Brgy. Lawaan here.
Policarpio Diaz of Angelville Subdivision in Barangay San Jose here was cornered by police after handing over a sachet of suspected shabu to operatives.
Recovered from Diaz were six sachets of illegal drugs weighing 2.2 grams and valued at P8,160, P500 marked money, and a cellphone.
Police Senior Master Sergeant (PSMS) Ramil Arcangeles, Roxas City PNP spokesperson, said Diaz was released from jail a month ago after entering in a plea-bargaining agreement for a previous drug case.
Diaz was taken to the Iloilo Crime Laboratory for testing. If he is positive for illegal drug use, charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him.
Arcangeles said drug suspects have been given a chance to renew and change their lives through plea bargaining agreement. But the police will not hesitate to run after them should they continue their illegal activities.
