BACOLOD City – A newborn baby girl who was left outside a church in Cauayan, Negros Occidental last week, has a new family.
A female pastor found the baby wrapped in a jacket outside the church in Barangay Inayawan on February 11, according to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD).
Staff Sergeant Rose Ann Gico of the WCPD, said the baby’s umbilical cord was still intact when found, an indication that her mother just gave birth to her.
Gico said the baby was taken to a hospital where she stayed until she was ready for discharge.
Gico said the baby is now in the care of her foster parents from Himamaylan City through the help of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
