BACOLOD CITY — A newborn baby boy was found dead behind a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Barangay Pta. Taytay on Tuesday afternoon.
Police Capt. Andy Ofalia, chief of Police Station 9, said the infant was discovered by a garbage collector around 3 p.m.
The baby was placed in an uncovered casserole, with the umbilical cord and placenta still attached.
Authorities believe the infant was abandoned and dumped by an unidentified person.
Police responded immediately after receiving the report and have coordinated with barangay officials to arrange for the baby’s burial.
