ROXAS CITY, Capiz– A newborn baby girl was abandoned Tuesday morning in a house at Vizcaya Ville in Barangay Vizcaya, Pres. Roxas, Capiz.
According to a certain Gina, she saw the baby when she opened their front door.
She was surprised when she saw a towel at their door step. When she opened the towel, she saw the baby with its umbilical cord still intact.
She immediately asked for help from neighbours. Minutes later, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of President Roxas responded and brought the baby to Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra.
The house owner said they have no idea who left the baby.
She said they heard a baby crying the night before but they did not mind it thinking the wails came from one of their neighbors.
President Roxas Mayor Receliste ” Tano” Escolin has instructed the municipal social welfare office (MSWO) to attend to the abandoned baby.
The baby girl is now in good condition while the MSWO is trying to trace her mother.
Several individuals are interested to adopt the child if no one will claim her.
