New York banks on consistent second-half performance to trounce Brooklyn

The New York Knicks relied on their second-half mastery to outduel the Brooklyn Nets, 105-93, in the ongoing NBA regular season on March 24, 2024.

After a tightly contested first-half duel between the two Eastern Conference teams, the Knicks surged in the final two quarters of the game and outscored the Nets, 49-36, to pull off the much-needed bounce-back win.

Fresh from a stinging loss to the Denver Nuggets several days ago, New York refused to suffer another defeat and tightened their screws in the crucial stretches of the second half.

Donte DiVincenzo was the marksman for the Knicks during the win after tallying a game-high 31-point performance built from an efficient 12/24 shooting from the field.

The former Villanova Wildcat was shooting the lights out against Brooklyn and made most of his baskets from the perimeter and his aggressive drives.

After a slow start with his three-point shooting, DiVincenzo decided to attack the paint and didn’t settle for the rainbow shots soon as his attacks went dropping.

Young shooter Miles McBride also continued his valuable contributions for New York as he backstopped DiVincenzo with 26 markers derived from 6/12 shooting from the three-point line.

It was McBride who provided the much-needed scoring lift when the Nets were still in striking distance in the first half.

Despite a horrible shooting performance from superstar Jalen Brunson, the duo of DiVincenzo and McBride stepped up for the Knicks and helped them close the gap in the Eastern Conference standings.

The huge win propelled the Knicks to the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference and are now on track to climb into the fourth if they manage to win their next games against Detroit, Toronto, and San Antonio.
