ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The new director of Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO), Police Colonel Julio Gustilo, vowed to continue the campaign against illegal activities in the province.
Gustilo, who assumed office Monday afternoon from Colonel Canilo Fuentes, said that the campaign against illegal drugs and gambling is one of his five agenda.
Fuentes has been promoted and will assume as the new police director of Butuan City.
Gustilo asked the support of local chief executives of the 16 towns and Roxas City.
He also vowed to continue the PNP’s campaign on internal cleansing to boost the morale of the institution.
The turnover of command ceremony was held at Camp Apil in Brgy. Lanot here with Brigadier Gen. Rene Pamuspusan, Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 director, as guest of honor.
Also present was Governor Esteban Evan Contreras, Vice Governor James Mitang Magbanua, Provincial Board Members, Roxas City Councilors and Department of Interior and Local Government(DILG) Provincial Director John Ace Azarcon.
Gustilo was the former police chief of Roxas City during the term of former Mayor Angel Alan Celino before he was reassigned to Guimaras as the provincial director. He also headed the Iloilo International Airport security group prior to his assignment here.
