ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Lawyer Ronnie T. Dadivas took his oath of office before outgoing Capiz Gov. Antonio del Rosario as the new mayor of Roxas City.
The oath taking was held Thursday morning at Governor’s Mansion in Brgy. Lanot here in the presence of Dadivas’s family, friends and former co-workers at the Roxas City Hall and Capiz provincial capitol.
A candidate of the Liberal Party, Dadivas defeated former City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) Roberto Rommel Lastimoso by a margin of 4,000 votes in the May 13, 2019 midterm elections.
His running-mate, re-electionist Vice Mayor Erwin Sicad and seven city councilors – San Jose village chief Jericho Angel Celino, Gabuan village chief John Paul Arcenas, reelectionists Cesar Yap Jr., Trina Almalbis-Ignacio, Cora Balgos-Tiangco, Gary Potato, and lawyer Paul Ivan Baticados – also won.
Dadivas vowed to push through with programs that will benefit the people of Roxas City. He also assured the public that he will avoid politicking.
