ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The Office of the Ombudsman opened its satellite office in Roxas City, Capiz Tuesday morning.
The Ombudsman Assistance Center(OAC) is located on the ground floor of City Mall on Roxas Avenue here.
According to Ombudsman Samuel Martires, the office would be the first satellite office in Western Visayas and in the Philippines.
Martires said it will bring vital services directly to the people, particularly in filing clearance applications, statements of assets and liability (SALN), submitting corruption complaints and seeking legal guidance.
“OAC operates in key locations across the country, empowering citizens to fight corruption and promote transparency,” Martires said in a media interview.
He thanked businessman Edgar “Injap” Sia II, DoubleDragon Corporation chairman, for providing a place inside his mall as the temporary office.
The center will be temporarily headed by Assistant Graft Investigation Officer Donald Badoy.
