Netflix has dropped the first glimpse of One Piece season two during the annual One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, Japan, and confirmed an early renewal for season three ahead of the 2026 premiere.
Production for the third season will kick off later this year in Cape Town, South Africa, with Ian Stokes joining Joe Tracz as co-showrunner.
The live-action pirate adventure, created in partnership with Shueisha and produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix, is based on Eiichiro Oda’s record-breaking manga series, which has sold over 500 million copies worldwide.
Season two, titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, will see Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew navigate the treacherous and fantastical Grand Line in pursuit of the fabled One Piece treasure.
“Fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet await as the crew encounters bizarre islands and formidable new enemies,” Netflix teased in its announcement.
The show’s first season, which debuted in 2023, became a global phenomenon—spending eight weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10, hitting #1 in more than 75 countries, and making history as the first Netflix English-language series to debut at #1 in Japan.
It has since racked up nearly 100 million views, earned 11 Children’s & Family Emmy Award nominations including Outstanding Young Teen Series, and become one of the platform’s most downloaded shows ever.
Beyond the screen, One Piece continues to expand with an upcoming immersive experience at Netflix House and merchandise collaborations with brands like LEGO and Moose Toys, available via Netflix Shop and global retailers.
Season two is set to launch in 2026, with fans already looking forward to the adventures that season three will bring.
