The biggest 168-lbs boxing clash of the year can now be watched on the no. 1 streaming platform in the world.
In another development regarding the showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford on September 13, 2025, reports confirmed that viewers will no longer have trouble queuing on the traditional pay-per-view basis after Netflix earned the rights to broadcast the fight live.
This will be Netflix’s second time catering a massive boxing event, following the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight that took place on November 15, 2024, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
On the other hand, the Alvarez-Crawford blockbuster bout’s venue is yet to be determined, but initial reports confirmed that it will take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Promoting the biggest super middleweight fight of the year is Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. Working side by side with the renowned promoter is Dana White, the CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
To make this fight possible, Crawford committed to jump two weight classes higher than his natural division. While most boxing experts warned him of his reduced foot speed in the ring, his camp and other firm believers predicted that his power would still be carried to the super middleweight division.
Alvarez will put his World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), and World Boxing Organization (WBO) super middleweight championship belts on the line and is seeking another unification title defense.
Before stepping inside the ring, Alvarez carried a momentum-boosting six-fight winning streak against Gennadiy Golovkin, John Ryder, Jermell Charlo, Jaime Munguia, Edgar Berlanga, and William Scull.
On the other hand, ring rust issues recently clouded Crawford and his camp after being out of the professional boxing ring for almost a year.
Since his clinical demolition on Errol Spence Jr., Crawford has only returned to the ring once, against Israil Madrimov.
