BACOLOD City – Police are eyeing a nephew as a person of interest in the shooting to death of a man in La Castellana, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Jose Rammel Europa, 47, of Barangay Camandag, was found lifeless beside a creek at Sitio Sambag, Barangay Manghanoy, according to the police.
Recovered from the crime scene were a caliber .45 ammunition casing, a gun recoil spring, and a recoil spring plug.
Police Captain Rhojn Darell Nigos, La Castellana police chief, said Europa was last seen alive with his nephew, whom he did not identify.
Nigos said the victim’s nephew alleged that his uncle was abducted by two unidentified persons in a secluded area.
But the police chief said they consider it a mere allegation of the victim’s nephew to his aunt.
Nigos said the victim’s nephew was tagged in the killing because he was not cooperating with the police and did not even surface after the incident.
