BACOLOD City – Police Regional Office 6 director, Police Brigadier General Rolando F Miranda, was the guest of honor and speaker in the graduation rites of 246 police trainees of the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course held at the Regional Training Center 6 in Bakyas, Mansilingan here on June 29, 2021.
The Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) is a 960-instructional hour program designed to provide the newly appointed police non-commissioned officers with the basic knowledge and skills in police science, administration, combat operations and tactics.
The 6-month basic training started on November 9, 2020.
The PSBRC prepares the recruits as guardians of peace and protectors of lives and properties by inculcating the right conduct and values required in the performance of their jobs.

During the ceremony, Miranda congratulated the recruits for successfully hurdling the training and wished them good luck as they start to venture the police world.
“Ngayon pa lang ang simula kung paano ninyo i-aapply ang mga itinuro sa inyo dito sa RTC (Regional Training Center” Miranda said as he pointed out the importance of the PSBRC as a foundation course of every police officer.
The 246 recruits are the successful applicants of the 2020 recruitment cycle who took oath on October 2020 at the PRO6 headquarters in Camp Delgado, Iloilo City.
PSBRC Class 2020-04 “PINILI” with 43 police trainees took oath on October 15, 2020 while the PSBRC 2020-05 “MAHARLIKA” is composed 203 police trainees took their oath last October 30, 2020.
Among the total of 246 trainees, 203 are males and 43 are females.
The ceremony was hosted by Police Colonel Giovanni Musico, the Training Director of RTC6 who declared the recruits as graduates of PSBRC.
Also in attendance is Police Lieutenant Colonel Alexis Relado, the Chief of the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division (RLDDD).
Lieutenant Colonel Relado turned over the recruits to Police Lieutenant Colonel Percival Zorilla, Regional Special Training Unit 6 chief, for a 10-day orientation before their 6-month Public Safety Field Training Program which is another requirement for permanency.
