BACOLOD City – Police Colonel Romy Palgue, director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here has ordered to investigate and track down the person who is using his name to ask for money.
This, after he received a report that an individual from Binalbagan town got a call last Saturday from a person claiming to be him and asked for donation.
The said person was using the number – 09065771699.
“It is not our doing because we strictly adhere to our No Take Policy in the Philippine National Police (PNP),” Palgue noted.
Palgue, in June 2020, has first warned the public against individuals claiming to be him to extort money or material things, as he believed that these persons are part of a syndicate soliciting for something by calling potential victims through mobile phones.
In February this year, Palgue’s predecessor, retired Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, was also victimized after some individuals used his name on social media to ask for money.
Palgue asked for the assistance of the public to help the police identify and apprehend the person who uses this scam to victimize unwary individuals.
