BACOLOD CITY – A top official of Negros Power is asking for public understanding as the company proceeds with a scheduled power interruption this weekend, April 26 and 27, in key service areas.
Assistant Vice President for Planning and Business Operations Engr. Leomil Tambanillo told the Daily Guardian on Friday that the power outage is necessary for ongoing rehabilitation.
“We are appealing for their understanding,” Tambanillo said.
He explained that the utility must proceed with preventive maintenance activities despite extreme weather conditions.
Tambanillo said the work includes replacing old insulators and reclosers.
“This is part of Negros Power’s five-year rehabilitation and modernization plan to prevent unexpected and widespread power interruptions, and to make our electricity distribution system more reliable,” he added.
