Negros Power has restored 99.99% of electricity service across its franchise area as of 2:24 p.m. on Nov. 28, 2025, leaving only 24 of its 244,915 customers still without power.
Chief Operations Officer Engr. Bailey del Castillo said all major components of the utility’s distribution system have been fully energized.
These include 100% of its sub-transmission lines, with five out of five restored, along with all 11 substations and all 48 feeders.
The remaining unenergized area is Barangay Canlandog in Murcia, located in the mountainous Canlandog peak.
Del Castillo said extreme terrain and ongoing rains have slowed final restoration efforts.
“The area is inaccessible to vehicles, and the ongoing work is manually executed. Our team had to exit early due to weather conditions and low visibility, as safety always comes first,” he said.
He added that the crew continues to navigate rough terrain and slippery slopes, with some repair points far apart.
Teams are manually carrying materials and equipment to reach damaged infrastructure.
“Despite the challenges, we remain fully committed to restoring power to this area. Please continue to pray for the safety of our crew on the ground,” he said.
The power outage was caused by Typhoon Tino, which recently hit Negros Occidental, bringing torrential rain, flooding, and strong winds.
The storm damaged power lines and toppled poles across Negros Power’s coverage area, which includes Bacolod City, Silay City, Talisay City, Bago City, Murcia, and Don Salvador Benedicto.
While most of the system has been repaired, Canlandog’s remote location and storm-related damage have delayed full restoration.
Negros Power assured the public that electricity in the remaining area will be restored as soon as conditions permit.Top of Form
