BACOLOD CITY — As part of its first anniversary celebration and continued commitment to community service under its flagship campaign Ikaw ang Una, Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) conducted a four-day surgical mission from Aug. 12 to 15, 2025.
The mission, held at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), was made possible through a partnership with the World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP).
This was the second surgical mission led by Negros Power, following its initial outreach at Valladolid District Hospital.
Continuing its mission of care, the latest initiative provided free, life-changing surgeries to 17 patients, most of whom were children in need of specialized procedures.
Operations performed included herniotomy, rectal biopsy, posterior sagittal anorectoplasty (PSARP), pull-through surgeries, colostomy closure, and other major procedures.
These interventions offered young patients—from newborns to children several years old—a renewed chance at a healthier, brighter future.
A total of 35 volunteers and staff participated in the mission, including an advance team, medical professionals, volunteers from Manila, and members of ORNAP Dumaguete.
CLMMRH medical staff also worked hand-in-hand with the mission team to ensure safe and comprehensive patient care throughout the four-day program.
“This mission reflects Negros Power’s heart for the community,” said Maricel Pe, assistant vice president for customer care and marketing.
“Through our partnership with the World Surgical Foundation Philippines, we are not just providing electricity—we are empowering lives, one surgery at a time. As we celebrate our first anniversary, we remain true to our promise: Ikaw ang Una—our people will always come first.”
Families of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the free, high-quality medical services—care that would have otherwise been financially out of reach.
With support from WSFP, local volunteers, and CLMMRH’s medical team, Negros Power aims to make the mission a continuing tradition to ensure that the people of Negros Occidental can access vital healthcare alongside reliable energy services.
