Negros Power Lowers Electricity Rates for May 2025
BACOLOD CITY – Negros Power announced a drop in residential electricity rates to PHP11.6958 per kilowatt-hour in May, down from PHP12.3563 in April.
The PHP0.6605 per kWh reduction offers relief to households managing monthly expenses.
A household consuming 200 kWh per month could save about PHP132.10 this billing cycle.
The savings can help cover groceries, savings or other essential needs.
Negros Power attributed the lower rates to decreased power generation and transmission costs.
These include a PHP1.1585/kWh drop in Wholesale Electricity Spot Market prices.
There was also a PHP0.2085/kWh decrease in the Emergency Power Supply Agreement rate from Palm Concepcion Power Corp.
Transmission charges fell due to a PHP2.82/kW cut in Power Delivery Service charges and a PHP29.31/kW drop in Ancillary Service costs.
These combined factors enabled Negros Power to offer more affordable electricity across Central Negros.
Updated Rates for May 2025:
- Residential: PHP11.6958/kWh
- Low Voltage: PHP11.7575/kWh
- High Voltage: PHP10.7054/kWh
