BACOLOD CITY — Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) successfully ensured uninterrupted electricity supply across Central Negros during the 2025 National and Local Elections.
Following the activation of full operational readiness on Sunday, electricity across the utility’s franchise area remained stable throughout the voting period, according to Engr. Bernard Del Castillo, Chief Operating Officer of Negros Power.
“We remained fully mobilized and ready to respond to any situation that might arise,” Del Castillo said, emphasizing the company’s preparedness for election-day demands.
Negros Power kept two generator sets on standby to address emergency power needs or unexpected outages, but no major disruptions were reported.
Del Castillo noted that the company’s commitment extended beyond power delivery, stressing its support for a peaceful and orderly election.
“Our commitment went beyond just providing electricity—we understood the importance of every vote cast and every voice heard,” he said.
The utility reported only minor and isolated interruptions at three polling stations: Pinuwayan Elementary School, Mailum Elementary School, and Bata Elementary School.
Each issue was resolved within an hour by Negros Power’s rapid response teams, ensuring minimal disruption to election proceedings.
A total of 85 personnel were deployed across 20 roving teams, 36 response teams, 9 quick response units, 12 line teams, and 8 organic response units, all of whom monitored operations until the conclusion of voting.
“These teams worked around the clock to make sure the elections proceeded without disruption,” Del Castillo said.
Negros Power also coordinated closely with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), local government units, and law enforcement agencies to ensure smooth communication and immediate technical support when needed.
The company maintained open communication channels, encouraging the public to report electrical concerns via its hotline and social media platforms, which were actively monitored by dedicated personnel.
With contingency plans in place and strong inter-agency collaboration, Negros Power played a key role in delivering a secure and well-powered election in Central Negros.
