BACOLOD CITY — Negros Power continues to make significant progress in restoring electricity across its franchise area following the widespread outages caused by Typhoon Tino, one of the strongest storms to hit Negros in two decades.
As of 9 a.m. on Nov. 14, 2025, the utility reported that 89.05 percent of its customers have been energized, according to Negros Power Chief Operations Officer Engr. Bailey del Castillo.
He said all major power infrastructure has now been fully restored, including:
- 100 percent or 5 of 5 sub-transmission lines energized
- 100 percent or 11 of 11 substations online
- 100 percent or 48 of 48 feeders fully energized
Only 26,819 out of 244,915 customers—or 10.95 percent—remain without power as restoration teams continue intensive repairs.
Weather conditions remain cloudy, but operations are ongoing, del Castillo added.
He said the company is on track to meet its next restoration milestone.
“Our target restoration up to the secondary line is next week, Wednesday,” he said.
“There might be remaining individual houses in interior parts that require us to fix the metering and service entrance connections,” he added.
Del Castillo pointed out that while energization rates appear to be slowing, this is due to the nature of the remaining work.
“It’s not slowing down,” he said.
“The number of houses per area that we energize is getting smaller and more spread out. Earlier, one area covered thousands of customers. Now, the remaining areas are interior locations with limited or narrow access,” he explained.
Despite the challenges, del Castillo assured the public that all field teams are working round-the-clock to achieve full restoration as quickly and safely as possible.
