BACOLOD CITY – Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) announced Monday, December 9, 2024, that customer billing distribution has returned to normal following the transition and data migration from Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO).
Rocella Ann Marie Fernandez, head of the Revenue Management Department at Negros Power, said issues related to sudden increases and decreases in kilowatt-hour usage have been resolved.
She added that investigations were conducted, and any discrepancies were addressed with affected customers.
The company replaced numerous old, defective, and inaccurate electric meters with new, precise ones, relocating them to poles accessible to meter readers to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Negros Power also utilizes a Spot Billing Machine (SBM) to download and upload data from static meters of various brands. The SBM features an automatic hold system that detects and flags sudden usage spikes, drops, or anomalies, preventing billing errors.
Negros Power serves over 230,000 accounts across Bacolod, Bago, Silay, and Talisay cities and the municipalities of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto.
The successful transition to a new billing system ensures consumers receive accurate and timely statements, promoting transparency and customer satisfaction.
