BACOLOD CITY — An alleged high-value individual was arrested in a police buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of 400 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP2,720,000 in Purok Mabugnawon, Barangay Junob in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on Nov. 14.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region identified the suspect as alias “Empoy,” 42, of Barangay Looc in Dumaguete City.
The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office vowed to continue its campaign against illegal drugs to safeguard communities in the province.
The operation demonstrated the provincial police force’s commitment to uphold the law and suppress the drug menace in the province, Norppo said.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, said in a statement that the fight against illegal drugs is far from over, adding that the regional office will continue its intensified anti-drug efforts through sustained intelligence-driven operations and community collaboration.
He also commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism.
