Negros Occidental Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena, along with other Negrense tourism officers, presented the awards won at the 2024 Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) Convention to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson (9th from left) on Tuesday. The event was recently held in Cotabato City.
Negros Occidental took home the Grand Winner Award for Best Provincial Local Hosting for the Negros Trade Fair and Best Provincial International Hosting for Terra Madre. Don Salvador Benedicto won Best Tourism Promotional Video, while Sipalay City was honored with awards for Best Sustainable Practices, Best Tourism Week Celebration, and Best Tourism-Oriented LGU.
Silay City earned first runner-up in Best Cultural Festival for the Kansilay Festival. Sipalay City Tourism Officer Jerick Lacson was also recognized as the second finalist for Outstanding Tourism Officer. (Capitol PIO photo)
