BACOLOD CITY — The Commission on Elections-Negros Island Region has recorded about 2.7 million registered voters in Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections on Nov. 2.
Comelec-NIR said 2,016,861 voters were registered at the barangay level, while 683,285 were registered at the SK level, based on on-site verification as of June 1.
The province accounted for the bulk of registered voters with 2.2 million, while Bacolod City had 475,743 voters.
Among the province’s six legislative districts, the sixth district had the highest number with 425,608 voters in 111 barangays and 127 voting centers.
The sixth district is composed of Candoni, Cauayan, Hinoba-an, Ilog, Kabankalan City, and Sipalay City.
It was followed by the third district with 424,441 voters in 115 barangays and 112 voting centers.
The third district covers E.B. Magalona, Murcia, Silay City, Talisay City, and Victorias City.
The fifth district had 412,034 voters in 117 barangays and 139 voting centers.
The fifth district covers Binalbagan, Hinigaran, Isabela, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, and Himamaylan City.
The first district had 346,292 voters in 95 barangays and 138 voting centers.
The first district covers Calatrava, Salvador Benedicto, Toboso, Escalante City, and San Carlos City.
Comelec-NIR also recorded 332,812 voters in 104 barangays and 86 voting centers in the fourth district.
The fourth district covers Pontevedra, Pulupandan, San Enrique, Valladolid, Bago City, and La Carlota City.
The second district had the lowest number of voters in the province with 283,217 voters in 59 barangays and 89 voting centers.
The second district covers Manapla, Cadiz City, and Sagay City.
In Bacolod City, Comelec-NIR recorded 361,749 voters at the barangay level and 113,994 voters at the SK level.
The city has 49 voting centers.
Based on Comelec-NIR records, Negros Occidental has 750 voting centers covering 662 barangays.
The province also has 5,794 clustered precincts.
On Wednesday, Comelec-NIR Director Lionel Marco Castillano, Assistant Regional Director Dindo Maglasang, and provincial election supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria paid a courtesy call to Police Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, acting regional director of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region.
The officials initially discussed preparations for the BSKE.
The Nov. 2, 2026, BSKE schedule is covered by Comelec Resolution No. 11191, which sets the election calendar, and follows Republic Act No. 12232, which moved the polls to the first Monday of November 2026.
