BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said they both personally support the proposed Joint Venture Agreement between Central Negros Electric Cooperative and Ignite Power.
This, after Roel Z. Castro President/CEO of MORE Power and President of Ignite Power made a presentation of the JVA to the top two officials of the province, mayors of local government units under the Ceneco franchise area, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan at the Negrense Residences last week.
“What is important is they can lower the power rates and improved the services to the consumers,” Ferrer told the media after the presentation.
“Based on their experience in Iloilo, I think it (JVA) is to our advantage because they already know how to bring down the frequency of power interruptions and the system loss and if this happens it will redound to the advantage of the consumers,” Lacson said.
He further said that the JVA should be given a chance adding that “personally I believe in the management of More Power.”
The governor further said that he is thankful Castro made the presentation adding that “at least we know what the intention of More Power is.”
“Definitely, I think the JVA should be given a chance,” he added.
On his part, Ferrer said Ceneco has been around for decades and discontent with its services among consumers is mounting.
“It (JVA) should be given a chance,” Ferrer also said.
On his part, Castro told reporters that he felt that both top officials are receptive to the JVA.
“I feel their being open about it,” he added.
