BACOLOD City – Two police offices here were awarded as best city and provincial police offices in the country.
These are the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) under the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, respectively.
Based on the data released by the BCPO, the city police force received a rating of 97.04 percent, as against the Naga City Police Office with 89.85 percent rating.
Police Colonel Noel Aliño, BCPO director, said that this is the result of the Bacolodnon’s team work, as he thanked everyone who contributed to the said accomplishment.
“Dahil po sa inyo, ikaw, tayo. Dahil po ito sa gusto natin lahat ng pagbabago,” Aliño said in a statement.
In 2019, the BCPO was also nominated in the same category, but lost to Zamboanga City Police Office, who was then led by now retired Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir.
Martir was also assigned to the BCPO and was replaced by Aliño in April this year, due to the former’s retirement from the police service.
Last month, an assessment was conducted on BCPO’s achievements, operations, and simulation exercises, which served as the foundation for determining the results of the evaluation.
It scrutinized various aspects of the BCPO’s performance, including their operational efficiency, crime prevention strategies, and community engagement initiatives.
Meanwhile, Nocppo led by Police Colonel Leo Pamittan garnered 92.33 percent rating against Cotabato Provincial Police Office with 92 percent rating.
The awarding rites will be held during the Police Service Anniversary on August 8.
