BACOLOD CITY – Provincial Administrator Atty. Alberto Nellas announced that the bidding for the provincial government of Negros’ bulk water project has been reset to October due to a request from most bidders.
The bidding was originally scheduled for June 27, 2024.
Nellas informed reporters on Friday that the submission of bids was extended to October this year upon the request of the bidders.
“This is due to the request of almost all our bidders. They want to come up with a good bid proposal for the project,” he explained.
However, he mentioned that one bidder had requested that the bidding proceed as scheduled, which led them to hold it as planned.
Nellas said they held the bidding until 1 p.m. to open the bid document, but the bidder, whose identity he withheld, did not show up or submit the bid documents.
Nellas said they resolved the issue and decided to accommodate the request of the 10 other bidders, extending the period to submit bid proposals until October 28, 2024.
He also noted that while other interested bidders can still join, it will be challenging since several rounds of consultations have already been conducted.
“It will be subjected to the deliberation of the Bids and Award Committee because many consultations have been held by the consultants with the technical team of the provincial government,” Nellas said.
