Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay in Aklan
THE Department of Trade and Industry in the province launched the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) last June 13 and 14, 2019 in Gibon, Toledo and Laserna of Nabas, Aklan.
Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay in Gibon, Nabas was the first official NSB launching in Aklan.
The launching, in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development office, was attended by local officials, potential and existing entrepreneurs, and other community members.
A total of 355 participants were encouraged to do business. Aside from Information Advocacy Campaign, topic also includes Entrepreneurship cum Business Opportunities and Financial Literacy.
The Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay is an initiative of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its Negosyo Centers that aims to:
- Increase awareness about the services offered by the DTI through its Negosyo Centers;
- to identify MSMEs with business operations within barangays; and
- to conduct business development assistance and other services.
These NSBs will be conducted in the 38 barangays (not municipalities) in Aklan belonging to the 4th to 5th income class, targeting a total of 3,800 existing and would be entrepreneurs.
Through the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay Initiative, DTI Negosyo Center brings the services and assistance of DTI closer to the grassroots level of the communities.
