BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said the provincial government will send P1 million each to Albay and Catanduanes as assistance to typhoon Rolly survivors.
The cash assistance was directly requested by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson for approval by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Diaz, however, pointed out the financial assistance is still being discussed by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council.
Additional funds are also being prepared for victims of Typhoon Ulysses, and an emergency meeting would be called to act on the allocation request, Diaz said.
On the other hand, PCG-Southern Visayas district commander, Captain Eduardo De Luna, said they are also accepting donations, this time for the victims of the heavy flooding in the Cagayan Valley and Bicol regions.
De Luna requested for donations of non-perishable food such as canned goods, powdered milk, and rice.
The local PCG is also asking for bottled drinking water.
He said the donations will then be picked up by PCG vessels which will then take it to the affected areas.
Donations can be dropped at the PCG sub-station, or at the PCG-Southern Visayas district headquaters located at San Patricio Blvd., Barangay Banago, Bacolod City.
