NegOcc cops say ‘shabu’ stash might be from other regions

BACOLOD City – Police Colonel Leo Pamittan, acting director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here, is not discounting the possibility that the P10.2 million worth of suspected shabu seized in San Carlos City last week came from other regions.

San Carlos City, being a coastal area, is considered a gateway of other regions into the province.

Thus, Pamittan said they need to be strict in manning the seaports.

Around 1.5 kilos of suspected shabu was seized from a couple in a buy-bust at Puso Tres, Hacienda San Jose, Barangay Guadalupe, San Carlos City on Jan 12, 2022.

The contraband was recovered from the subject while his live-in partner fled.

“Very alarming ang dami ng drugs,” Pamittan said.

Pamittan said the provincial police force should coordinate with other law enforcement agencies, including maritime police and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to intensify their operations against the possible entry of contrabands.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Nazer Canja, deputy provincial police for operations, said they have not monitored any drug laboratory in the province.

Despite this, Canja assured that they will continue their intelligence gathering.

“Patuloy pa rin nagtatrabaho ang ating mga drug operatives,” Canja said.
