BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental on Wednesday unanimously approved on final reading the 2020 budget of the provincial government amounting to P4,203,893,683.00.
“It was a smooth sailing passage of the 2020 budget,” Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said.
Ferrer said that the SP Committee on Finance and Appropriation chaired by Board member Rommel Debulgado conducted the committee hearings.
The approval was a week earlier than the original target of the first week of December.
Some P3.7 billion of the budget is from the Internal Revenue Allotment, P192 million from the income of the economic enterprise, while the rest is from the local income of the provincial government.
Meanwhile, Ferrer said he is hoping that the provincial government will hand out extra bonuses this year.
“We are working on it,” he said.
