The Iloilo City government reported that 4,949 individuals have been evacuated as of Tuesday, Nov. 4, with no flooding recorded despite the impact of Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi).
According to Situational Report No. 6 from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the evacuees came from 40 barangays—10 in City Proper, 9 in Jaro, 6 in Molo, 4 in Lapuz, 3 in Mandurriao, and 2 in La Paz.
These individuals are currently housed in 64 evacuation centers out of the 83 activated by the CDRRMO ahead of the typhoon.
Mayor Raisa Treñas-Chu issued Executive Order No. 121, series of 2025, on Monday, Nov. 3, mandating preemptive evacuation in 27 barangays and communities near major waterways.
In a press conference Tuesday, Treñas-Chu said the evacuees are being assisted by the city government, which has activated community kitchens to provide meals.
She added that supplies are sufficient to support evacuees until Thursday, Nov. 6, when the typhoon’s effects are expected to subside.
As of 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 4, no floods have been reported in the city, but the CDRRMO confirmed 46 uprooted trees and toppled posts due to strong winds and rain.
These include 17 incidents in Jaro, 7 in Arevalo, 6 in Molo, 5 in City Proper, 4 each in Lapuz and Mandurriao, and 3 in La Paz.
The CDRRMO continues to monitor the situation, which has escalated since Typhoon Tino developed over the weekend.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued Tropical Cyclone Bulletin (TCB) No. 16 at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, placing the typhoon’s center near Patnongon, Antique as of 4:00 p.m.
According to TCB No. 16, most areas in Western Visayas remain under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4.
These areas include central and southern Antique (Patnongon, Sibalom, Valderrama, Hamtic, San Jose, Bugasong, Anini-y, San Remigio, Belison, Tobias Fornier, Laua-an), and central and southern Iloilo (Calinog, New Lucena, Maasin, Oton, Pavia, Dueñas, Barotac Nuevo, Guimbal, Iloilo City, Tigbauan, San Miguel, Leon, Mina, Santa Barbara, Leganes, Dingle, Zarraga, Bingawan, Cabatuan, Alimodian, Dumangas, San Joaquin, Badiangan, Pototan, Lambunao, Tubungan, Igbaras, Janiuay, Miagao), and the entire province of Guimaras.
The rest of Western Visayas, including the remaining parts of Antique (including the Caluya Islands), Aklan, Capiz, and other portions of Iloilo, has been downgraded to Signal No. 3.
