WITH just 50 seconds left in the clock in the final frame, San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya delivered one of the most unusual orders in a basketball game against the Lyceum Pirates which they lost.
ABS-CBN, the media partner of the NCAA, caught Macaraya on cam with his statements.
“Ammar (Cosari), hampasin mo ‘yung kamay ni Nzeusseu. Wala tayong magagawa, kaibigan-kaibigan sila eh. Mga gago eh! So ikaw naman, subukan kita.”
Mike Nzeusseu, the Pirates center, suffered a broken right index finger during the Filoil Preseason All-star game.
Nzeusseu’s hand is still recovering from the injury and has played only in limited minutes.
Due to Macaraya’s gestures, the NCAA Management Committee (Mancom), suspended him for one game for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The Mancom also urged the veteran coach to make a public apology and serve community service.
Macaraya will serve his suspension on August 9 and is yet to answer messages and questions to the press.
