ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Capiz arrested a man accused of rape Thursday afternoon at the Roxas City Integrated Transport Terminal here.
Daniel Parreño Catarig of Mandurriao, Iloilo City was surprised when NBI-Capiz agents approached and served the warrant of arrest.
Agent John Katipunan, NBI-Capiz executive officer, said the arrest was carried out after intensified intelligence monitoring on Catarig.
He said the suspect was about to go home to Iloilo City when he was nabbed.
Catarig is in the custody of NBI-Capiz.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old businessman who was also charged with rape was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Barangay Bungsuan Dumarao, Capiz.
Jecon Olivar of Sitio Karagatan Brgy. Taslan, Dumarao did not resist when the Dumarao police served the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Faustino Roxas Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 24 in Roxas City on November 12, 2020.
He was not allowed to post bail.
