The Milwaukee Bucks’ freefall hit a new low Monday as the Washington Wizards erased a 16-point deficit to claim a 129-126 victory, handing Milwaukee its eighth loss in nine games.
Despite shooting 55.3% from deep—becoming only the third team this season to hit 21+ three-pointers and lose—the Bucks collapsed in the final 90 seconds. Washington executed a decisive 10-1 run, fueled by CJ McCollum (28 points) and a dunk by Bilal Coulibaly with 5.4 seconds remaining.
Marvin Bagley III added 22 points and nine rebounds for the Wizards, who secured just their third win of the season. Kevin Porter Jr. led Milwaukee with a season-high 30 points before exiting with back spasms, while Giannis Antetokounmpo chipped in 26 points.
Cavaliers 135, Pacers 119
Donovan Mitchell erupted for 43 points to snap the Cleveland Cavaliers’ three-game losing streak, overpowering the Indiana Pacers 135-119 despite missing five key rotation players.
With starters Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen out, rookie Jaylon Tyson stepped up with a season-high 27 points. The Cavaliers controlled the game early, sprinting to a 20-8 lead and never trailing after the opening minutes.
Pascal Siakam led Indiana with 26 points but left the game in the fourth quarter. The loss halted the Pacers’ brief two-game winning streak.
Pistons 99, Hawks 98
Cade Cunningham filled the stat sheet and hit the game-winning shots as the Detroit Pistons narrowly escaped with a 99-98 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
Cunningham finished with 18 points, eight assists, five steals, and three blocks. He scored a midrange jumper and a layup in the final minute to erase a late Atlanta lead. Jalen Duren anchored Detroit with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Hawks, led by Jalen Johnson’s 29 points and 13 rebounds, had a chance to win at the buzzer, but Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s three-pointer with 1.2 seconds left only cut the final margin to one.
