NBA: New York manhandles Chicago by 30 points
By Leobert Julian A. de la Peña

The New York Knicks handed the struggling Chicago Bulls another reality check after crushing them by 30 points, 135-105, in the ongoing NBA regular season on Nov. 4, 2026 (Nov. 5, Philippine time), at Madison Square Garden.
Fresh off a 13-point victory over the Brooklyn Nets to return to the win column, New York carried its momentum against the Bulls, pulling off a convincing victory to pick up its second consecutive win.
New York immediately dominated the Bulls in the first quarter as the reigning NBA champions built a 43-21 lead behind the red-hot shooting of superstar Jalen Brunson.
Brunson quickly went to work, outplaying every defender Chicago head coach Tiago Splitter assigned to him to help the Knicks grab an early 32-16 advantage.
Despite an early double-team adjustment from the Bulls, Brunson overcame resistance on the perimeter as the crafty guard drew fouls and made both of his free-throw attempts in the opening quarter.
To make things worse, the trio of OG Anunoby, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordan Clarkson picked up where Brunson left off, maintaining New York’s offensive momentum in the second quarter and forcing Splitter to call timeouts.
New York then took advantage of Chicago’s cold shooting as its second unit, led by Dalton Knecht and Mohamed Diawara, provided the much-needed offensive punch that helped the Knicks build an 84-52 halftime lead, tying a franchise record for points scored in the first half.
The Bulls played at a slower pace to neutralize New York’s fast-break efficiency at the start of the second half, but Brunson continued his scoring assault, helping the Knicks fend off any comeback attempts from Chicago.
Chicago eventually waved the white flag as Splitter rested his starters in the fourth quarter, allowing New York to cruise to victory before the 19,812 fans in attendance at Madison Square Garden.
Brunson capped his impressive scoring night with 33 points in just 28 minutes on 10-of-17 shooting, alongside four assists and two rebounds.
The frontcourt duo of Anunoby and Towns chipped in 18 and 17 points, respectively, while Knecht and Clarkson added 10 points apiece.
On the other hand, Chicago has yet to regain its identity after dropping to a dismal 1-7 record, the worst in the Eastern Conference, while New York improved to 4-4.
New York will look to move above the .500 mark on Nov. 8 (Philippine time) when it takes on Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Chicago aims to regain its footing against the Philadelphia 76ers on Nov. 9 (Philippine time).
