The New York Knicks and forward Mikal Bridges reportedly agreed to a four-year, $150 million contract extension confirmed on August 1, 2025.
After a tremendous debut with New York, Bridges will be rewarded with a lucrative bag that would keep him under the Knicks organization until the off-season of 2029.
According to ESPN’s veteran NBA insider Shams Charania, Bridges’ agents, Sam Goldfeder and Jordan Gertler of Excel Sports Management, verified the four-year deal.
However, Bridges could’ve gotten the chance to sign a maximum extension worth $156M, but the skipper decided to take a pay cut to sign more role players for the Knicks.
Bridges underwent a shooting slump in the first half of the NBA but rediscovered his shooting touch after the All-Star break, capping off the regular season with 17.6 points, 3.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game.
He played all 82 regular-season games for New York and was a key cog in helping the Knicks secure the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
Bridges ended the first round of the NBA Playoffs with a sub-par outing but amped up his numbers when they faced the Boston Celtics during the Eastern Conference semifinals.
In that action-packed semis series, Bridges made back-to-back game-sealing defensive plays on the road and improved his shooting percentage from downtown which were enough to dethrone the reigning NBA kings.
However, Bridges and New York failed to solve the Indiana Pacers puzzle in the conference finals and folded in six games.
Bridges averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.9 blocks from the first round until the conference finals.
Aside from Bridges’ extension, New York also made huge moves during the off-season and hired former Sacramento Kings mentor Mike Brown to replace Tom Thibodeau as their new chief tactician.
